Old Planes at the Old Fort

Sadly I have to admit that my PPC days may be numbered. I’m now flying my friend Phil’s Aeronca Chief. With the winds we've had this year, it just makes more sense for me.

The Chief is like that girl I never meant to fall in love with! I was just going to take her for a spin... okay, I'd better stop now!

This weekend I took her to Groesbeck, Texas for the "Old Planes at the Old Fort" fly-in. While I had the only Aeronca there, there were many nice planes, including a beautiful Waco. It was an interesting runway! 2,000' with 70' trees right on the end of the runway! I had a lot of people come up to me after I landed saying I had a beautiful slip and landing. That's always nice! Surprisingly I didn't see anyone else slip and many guys had to try two or three times to get down.
Of course the Chief first!

Flying the River

Travis, Bruce, and I met Bill at his place for a Saturday flight. Last time we flew from there, I stumbled across a river and wanted to go check it out this time. The water was low, but it was beautiful. Hope you enjoy!
